The children are working assiduously, and with cathartic energy, on their woodworking projects, now that they’ve brought their pieces into recognizable, shapeable forms. I picked up some more gouges yesterday.
We had a lot of fun playing Bioviva, an ecological, bio-regional nature quiz game. We studied square roots and Area, and had a lot of fun trying to get closer and closer to square root of 2 and square root of 10; when you treat math as a puzzle the children do longer and longer multiplication problems trying to find an answer; they don’t want to stop, when they have a goal.
